Effect of rice koji amazake on immunity, intestinal environment, sleep, and performance in athletes

Hello everyone! This is Omura, the representative of Corazon Co., Ltd., which operates a store specializing in rice koji amazake.

I would like to report on the contents of a visit to the swimming club of Chukyo University as part of joint research with Aichi Shukutoku University, Chukyo University, and MURO, a rice koji and amazake specialty store.

Chukyo University Swimming Club is one of the strongest teams in Japan. The athletes' bodies were trained for this important tournament, and their attitudes and communication were very pleasant, and I was fascinated in an instant.

Purpose of research

The purpose of this study is to measure the effects of long-term intake of Aamasake, which contains a high content of resistant protein, on the immune system, intestinal environment, and sleep of swimmers, as well as on performance.

Rice malt amazake contains nutritious ingredients such as glucose, oligosaccharides, B vitamins, dietary fiber, and resistant protein. There is data that it affects bacteria , so I am very interested in how it affects the times and performance of the players.


The result of a long-term challenge over a month and a half

In the study, swimmers underwent a two-week amazake life experience, followed by a two-week placebo drink before that.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the athletes, managers, teachers/coaches, and everyone in the seminar lab for their cooperation in daily drink intake, questionnaires, and various measurements during the important period before the tournament. I would like to express my gratitude.

The oligosaccharides and dietary fiber contained in amazake serve as food for beneficial bacteria in the intestinal flora, and are closely related to health, the immune system, and stress tolerance.
In addition, good quality sleep is essential for sports performance. Tryptophan contained in amazake is involved in the synthesis of serotonin and melatonin, and may improve relaxation and sleep quality.


When I visited the site, I was surprised to hear that the athletes already commented on various effects.
For example, there were many voices saying that muscle mass did not decrease even though body fat decreased.
This may be said to be the effect of the resistant protein contained in amazake.
Also, some people said that they were constipated due to taking animal protein, but there was also a comment that the intestinal function was improved by taking amazake.

Furthermore, as a surprising result, some athletes broke their previous best record on the final measurement day!


Currently, we are placing a considerable burden on the seminar members, but they are working on a huge amount of tabulation work and data analysis.
I am watching it with great interest.
